This piece is made of solid wood construction that has been ebonized and finished with a lustrous French polish of museum quality in the Napoleon III fashion. The demilune shape is a classic French detail. The open base allows for aesthetic functionality and is supported by four detached columns. There is a single dovetailed drawer at the top with a working lock and key as well as two pulls, all gilt brass.

There are better floating shelves

Doesn’t feel very sturdy like other floating shelves I’ve bought, and they slant a little. The anchors and screws that it came with all broke so we had to get our own for it to feel more secure on the wall, but still feels wobbly. Overall, it looks good on the wall after the fact, but won’t be adding too much weight on it.
