Gran guides Wren as she processes her feelings through art
Format: Hardcover, Format: Hardcover
This book is a treasure on many levels. Though written for children, it would make a lovely gift for an adult walking through disappointments or questioning God.
As an aunt, I desire to be like Gran as I love, respond to, and guide the children in my life.
It can be uncomfortable to see children sit in disappointment. Yet, Gran doesn't try to rescue Wren. Rather, she guides her to process and then express her feelings through art.
Gran gives Wren judgment-free space to identity and feel her own feelings and then encourages her to express those honest feelings to God in a prayer painting.
As with Brown's adult books, this is an inviting, loving, gentle, practical, soul care book. And, as with her novels, I am somehow a participant in the book or a fly on the wall, longing for the story to continue.
The lovely illustrations bring the words to life and make me want to pick up a paintbrush myself.
Well done!
