How Search Engine Works?

Search engines perform some activities in order to deliver search results

Crawling is the process of fetching all the web pages linked to a web site. This task is performed by software, called a crawler or a spider.

Indexing is the process of creating index for all the fetched web pages and keeping them into a giant database from where it can later be retrieved.

On-Page SEO

This includes providing good content, good keywords selection, putting keywords on correct places, giving appropriate title to every page etc.

Off-Page SEO

This includes link building, increasing link popularity by submitting in open directories, search engines, link exchange etc.

Headings

You should have at-least first three headings in your web page i.e. h1 h2 h3. Make sure h1 is not repeated and should contain best keyword of your business.

There are no technical length limits for the <h1>, <h2>, <h3>…tags but common sense says that too long headings are bad for page readability.

Page Title

You should have a good title of your page and it should contain keywords but title length should be between 10 -70 characters and your title will appear on search engine with your listing. Each page should have its exclusive title.

Put the title of your home page with your Primary Keyword and followed by your best Secondary Keyword Phrases.

Use more specific variations to your Primary Keyword Phrase on your specific product, service, or content pages.

Meta Tag

Meta is information about data. Two major Meta are keywords and description. Contain list of keywords max 110 characters.

<meta name=”description” content=”we provide best training in php with developers. Choose courses in your own ways. Call us : 99999999″>

Description will be publishing on search engine along with your listing; you should have good and catchy lines for description as users prioritize their visits on description.  If you fail to put description tag then search engine will decide any random text from your website.

Apart from these we may try the following meta tags for different search engines as above meta tags will target only Google, yahoo, ask and bing.
